Yesterday, nearly 200 of our members representing more than 30 countries headed to the state legislature for an incredible Immigrant Day on the Hill! We told our stories, shared top priorities with our legislators, and exercised the growing power of Tennessee’s immigrant and refugee communities.

Immigrants and refugees are deeply rooted in Tennessee, and it's long overdue that our legislators prioritize policies that help our communities thrive. We all deserve a state where everyone feels safe and can afford to raise and care for their families, but this year our state legislature has made one thing clear: They would rather use their power to attack and divide vulnerable communities instead of focusing on real solutions for our families. Sharing our stories is the most powerful tool we have, so we’ll keep showing up and protecting our freedoms—at the legislature, in our communities, and in the streets.

Speaking with state legislators and sharing our stories is just one piece of our work. In addition to our annual Day on the Hill, our communities are developing and leading our campaigns and advocacy groups around climate justice, workers rights, and public health. Whether you were able to attend our 2023 Immigrant Day on the Hill or not, there are several ways for you to plug in:
- Renew your TIRRC membership and help us fuel our work. Being a TIRRC member costs only $20 a year and you get access to training, event space rental discounts, and being plugged into a community of powerful leaders across the state.
- Volunteer with us!
- Follow us on social media @tnimmigrant for policy updates, calls to action, and community events.
- Donate to help fuel our powerful movement.

Yesterday, we stepped into our power, we claimed our space, and made our voices heard. But we need you to help us keep the momentum going toward creating a Tennessee that works for all of us. We deserve a legislature that will work to provide real solutions for our families to ensure we all have the freedom to thrive.
