Warming Center opening today, Wednesday, January 5th at, 7:00 PM at the Marion Hale
Community Center:
The City of Memphis has implemented its cold weather plan with the establishment of a
Warming Center. Warming Centers are places where residents dealing with extremely low
temperatures may escape, after normal business hours for city government buildings. The
warming center has limited services and is not intended to replace the services provided by a
shelter. Primary locations for warming centers are usually malls, shopping centers, libraries, and
community centers that are opened during normal business hours.
The Warming Center will be open for those seeking warmth after normal business hours.
OPERATING HOURS and LOCATION:
Marion Hale Community Center (4791 Willow Road, Memphis, TN 38117)
The Warming Center will open Today at,7:00 P.M and will remain open through Saturday,
January 8th, 2022, 7:00 a.m. The hours of operation are 7:00 PM-7:00 AM daily. Due to COVID
precautions, all persons seeking entry into the center will be required to take a COVID
test as well as adhere to social distancing guidance. Masking is strongly encouraged for
all persons in the center.
Those seeking overnight shelter accommodations are encouraged to seek assistance from our
partners at Memphis Union Mission located at 383 Poplar Avenue (901)-526-840, The Salvation
Army located at 696 Jackson Avenue (901)-529-4545, or for additional local shelters call (901)
529-4545.
For assistance regarding transportation, please contact the Office of Emergency Management
