Contributory Life Insurance Refund

December 20, 2021 Dear City of Memphis Employee, In your paycheck this week (Payperiod-26), you’ll find a refund of a portion of your payment for your contributory life insurance. The rate decreased in January from 36 cents per every $1,000 of coverage to 20 cents per $1,000 of coverage. The lower rate was not changed in our system, which means you are due a refund of the difference, which is 16 cents per every $1,000 of coverage. The refund each employee receives varies based on the coverage amount that was selected. The lower rate is now correct in our system.
