Friends,

Although I can’t believe it’s already here, the holiday season is upon us. As I write this week’s Update, I can’t help but think of the old saying “the days are long, but the years are short”, which for me, makes this time of year even more special.

It’s a time to be thankful, a time for reflection, and a time to spend quality moments with the ones you love.

As we celebrate Thanksgiving tomorrow, I’m thankful for my family, good friends, and the wonderful hardworking colleagues I’m fortunate enough to work alongside every day. Each year, we take time to recognize those employees who go above and beyond to serve our city in what we call our Ovation Awards.

I say this all the time, but our City employees are the backbone of what we do—delivering strong service to our citizens regardless of the circumstances they may face. And, over the last 18 months, they’ve stepped up and been willing to serve in whatever capacity was needed.
