Friends,

That’s a wrap! Bluff…City…Law, what a season! Since September, Memphis and the Straits were center stage for the world to see.

And in my humble opinion, they didn’t disappoint!

Our city looked amazing. With great shots of the Hernando DeSoto Bridge, the skyline, and just about every iconic spot you can think of Downtown — Memphis was definitely as much a character in the storyline as Elijah Strait. And for my part, I certainly hope we see more in a second season.

Happy birthday Shelby County: As many of you know, we have had the unique opportunity of commemorating the bicentennial anniversary of both the City of Memphis and Shelby County in the same year – giving us a great reason to celebrate throughout 2019.

In May, we celebrated the City of Memphis’s bicentennial, and this past Sunday we celebrated 200 years of Shelby County at Shelby Farms Park. Each municipality had their own tent with information about their city’s history, signature foods, and good people to shepherd you through the process.

All in all, it was a great event with a great turnout of people from all across Shelby County coming together to celebrate our community.

Happy Thanksgiving: If you’re traveling this long weekend, please be safe. And, please be aware that garbage and recycling collections will be delayed for our Thursday and Friday customers.

As we move into the holiday season, take time to spend with your loved ones. If you have kids, hold them a little tighter, and be kind to your neighbor.

From our family to yours — we hope you have a great Thanksgiving!

Yours,
