The BlueCross Healthy Place at David Carnes Park will celebrate its grand opening this Saturday, Aug. 10!
The official ribbon cutting ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. You’ll hear from representatives of BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee and the City of Memphis. After the park is open, the celebration will continue with food, music, games and prizes until 1 p.m.
BlueCross is excited about how this revitalized space will bring neighbors together while honoring the history of the great Whitehaven neighborhood. And they look forward to seeing everyone enjoy the park’s new features, including gathering spaces, a playground, improved walking trails, a splash pad and a challenge course.
Parking and shuttle service are available at Whitehaven High School (4851 Elvis Presley Blvd, Memphis, TN 38116). A large turnout is expected, but signage and volunteers will help direct traffic.
