David Carnes Park Redevelopment– The Council approved a resolution to allow BlueCross BlueShield’s BlueCross Healthy Place program to sponsor the redevelopment of David Carnes Park. BlueCross BlueShield has committed to invest $5.4 Million to the Park. David Carnes Park is located in Whitehaven.

GoFundMe Donations– The City Council would like to thank everyone who donated to the GoFundMe page to fund the City of Memphis’ Bicentennial Celebration. The GoFundMe page was formed after the Tennessee Legislator voted to not provide Memphis with $250K for Memphis’ Bicentennial. The Council voted to accept these donations, which amounted to $69,701. These donations demonstrate Memphis’ charitable spirit.

Impasse Results – The Council decided with the City that the focus for this budget season will be to raise pay for those that are at the lowest rate of the city at $15.50/hour and make spot adjustments throughout the city where wages were out of alignment with the market.

Have a great week and take care.
