Connecting Saint Paul Youth with Summer Jobs
Right Track offers Saint Paul youth a variety of opportunities to gain work experience and build career skills.
(SAINT PAUL) - Youth applications for the City of Saint Paul’s Right Track summer jobs program will be available beginning Monday, February 17, 2014 on the City’s web page, www.stpaul.gov/jobs. Interested individuals should submit an application no later than midnight on Friday, March 14, 2014. The Right Track program is designed for Saint Paul youth and young adults ages 14-21 who are from low-income households or have a barrier to employment and are interested in summer work experience and career exploration. Eligible candidates for this program will have the opportunity to work in a variety of industries at over 100 different work sites during the summer.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
Saint Paul youth ages 14 to 21 who are from low-income households and/or have a barrier to employment. Barriers to employment include:
- pregnant/parenting youth;
- youth with Limited English Proficiency;
- potential or actual dropouts;
- juvenile offenders/diversion program youth;
- youth receiving public assistance and/or group home services;
- youth with disabilities, including learning disabilities;
- homeless or runaway youth;
- chemically dependent or children of drug or alcohol abusers/dependents;
- youth with basic skills deficiency;
- youth with educational attainment one or more levels below grade level appropriate to age; and,
- foster children.
WHAT ARE THE WAGES?
Right Track workers are paid $7.25 an hour
HOW MANY HOURS DO RIGHT TRACK WORKERS WORK?
Right Track workers average 15 hours per week
WHEN DOES IT START?
Most jobs will begin June 16, 2014 and end August 22, 2014

All applications must be completed and submitted online at www.stpaul.gov/jobs. Youth without access to a computer, or in need of assistance applying, can visit their local recreation center, library, or school.
