APRIL 2025
Serving Saint Paul residents and businesses by advancing justice and equity through education, advocacy, and enforcement.

National Fair Housing Month is observed each April to commemorate the landmark 1968 Fair Housing Act that prohibits discrimination in housing based on a person’s protected class. This includes refusing to rent to someone because of their race, denying a mortgage application based on disability, or imposing different rental terms based on familial status.
As we close National Fair Housing month, we want to take one more opportunity to remind you that, in the City of Saint Paul, the Human Rights Investigations division investigates and addresses individual complaints of housing discrimination under the Saint Paul Human Rights Ordinance. Everyone deserves fair and equal access to housing opportunities!
Experienced Discrimination in the Past Year? If you believe you’ve faced discrimination within the last year, contact us by: 📞 Phone: 651-266-8966 📧 Email: hrightscomplaints@ci.stpaul.mn.us 📝 Complete a Discrimination Inquiry Form

The Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST), Minimum Wage, and Wage Theft ordinances require that employers give employees notice about their rights. Employers must display this notice in English and any other languages as needed. HREEO provides this poster for employers to meet this requirement.
If you believe your labor rights have been violated, you can file a complaint at 651-266-8966, email us at laborstandards@ci.stpaul.mn.us, or through the electronic complaint form.
