College Bound Saint Paul - Pathways for Every Child, Family and Future

October 2023

Catch up with CollegeBound!

The City of Saint Paul is dedicated to investing in our children’s futures. That’s why the community is working together to provide a college savings account with $50 for each child who lives in Saint Paul and is born on or after January 1, 2020.  CollegeBound Saint Paul will help provide a pathway to a brighter future for both families and the city.

Catch up with CollegeBound is the official CBSTP Newsletter. We’ve crafted this newsletter with tips, tricks, and information to help you, our community partners and champions, stay updated with CollegeBound and assist families to engage with their accounts!

Program Updates

CollegeBound recently hit over $2 million  in savings! Over 12,000 children in Saint Paul are now enrolled and have collectively saved $2 million towards their futures; this includes the $50 seed deposits, family contributions, and other bonuses. Thank you for your partnership in helping us reach this milestone!

$2 million saved through CollegeBound Saint Paul

CollegeBound Saint Paul had a busy summer attending various events throughout the city and meeting lots of families. CollegeBound partnered with Mother's First for the fourth annual Community Baby Shower! Congrats to all those who came to celebrate with all the new parents in Saint Paul.

You are invited to an in-person screening of “It’s Basic," a full-length feature film that looks at several guaranteed income pilot programs launched in the US that test the effects of giving everyday people an extra $500 to $1,000 monthly, with no strings attached. Several Saint Paul families who are in CollegeBound are highlighted in the film. The screening is next week, October 17th at 1:30pm at Wellstone Center. Register today!

Enrollment & Engagement Tips

The CollegeBound website has two new resources for partners and families! You can find all needed materials for outreach on our partner resources website.

You can also direct families to the new family resources page where they can find helpful guides and documents they need to claim bonuses or opt-out of interest.

Partner Highlights

CollegeBound Ambassadors are key partners who help spread the word about CollegeBound in their networks, families, and communities. Ambassadors receive a monthly stipend to attend events and have grassroots conversations with Saint Paul families. We will be recruiting a handful of new ambassadors in the next few months. If you know someone who might be a good fit, please share our interest form with them and we will reach out when the application opens.
