ENDING SOON: Tree Gnome Scavenger Hunt
The Tree Gnomes are beginning to depart our parks! Some gnomes will be departing January 31, while others are extending their stay until February 7, although weather depending, they may have to adjust their travel plans. So we recommend getting out as soon as you can to catch them before they leave!
Solve the clues, post a selfie with the Tree Gnome and use hashtag #stpgnometakeover--shhh, be careful not to give away the location in your photo! Can you find the whole Tree Gnome family? (And, yes, we'll post the answers after all the gnomes have left!)

DEADLINE APPROACHING: Youth Spring Sports registration open through January 31
Youth Spring Sports registration is open for spring volleyball and futsal (indoor soccer). New this year: boys volleyball for ages 13+!
This season, we are excited to announce that registration fees have been eliminated for youth sports 10U and up (ages 9+) at all recreation center sites. Eliminating these fees allows Saint Paul youth to have access to quality programming, encourages healthy and active lifestyles, builds confidence, and creates community. (Please note that fees apply for ages 4U, 6U and 8U.)
Interested in coaching or officiating? We need coaches and officials year-round!
If you are interested in coaching or officiating any youth sports, we'd love to have you join the team! (We are especially looking for volleyball and futsal support this spring.) Volunteer coaches should fill out the volunteer form (list which sport you'd like to coach in the comments) and someone will reach out to you, or call Municipal Athletics at 651-558-2255 to get connected. Officials should apply online. No experience is required. These are great opportunity for adults who want to stay involved with their favorite sport or a great resume builder for older teens and college students!

Saint Paul Parks and Recreation has released two Request-For-Proposals seeking management partners for park facilities: the Highland Park Pool House (1333 Montreal Ave) and the Phalen Lakeside Activity Center (1530 Phalen Dr). These are two unique and special facilities that have been important parts of the parks and recreation system for decades, and now the City hopes to reimagine and revitalize them with partner organizations and the community. Both solicitations are open on Saint Paul Bids through 4pm on February 3, 2023.

Ice rink updates
All ice rinks are currently open. Rink statuses are available on the ice rink webpage but are subject to change at any time. Contact the recreation center or see onsite signage for the most recent updates.
Reminder: Never use the rink as a dog park. This will damage the ice and delay the skating season. Please visit one of our dog parks for off-leash fun.
