Now Hiring: Ski and Snowboard Instructors

If you are experienced in downhill skiing, snowboarding, or cross-country skiing and want to share your skills with the community, consider becoming an instructor at Como Park Ski Center this winter! Lessons typically take place December through February on weekends and Wednesday and Thursday evenings. Training is scheduled to begin in November and salary will be dependent on experience. Visit the Como Park Ski Center webpage for more information. 

MEA Out of School Time Programs 

MEA for SPPS is October 15-16. Saint Paul Parks and Recreation will offer full and half-day programs at recreation centers across the city to keep youth stay active and engaged during this time. Programs will adhere to CDC and MN Department of Health guidance on COVID-19.

Halloween will look a bit different this year but Saint Paul Parks and Recreation and our partners are finding alternative, fun, and safe ways to celebrate the fall season! Events are free unless otherwise noted. Some events require registration in advance. All events will adhere to the CDC and MN Department of Health guidance on COVID-19.

• October 11; 3-4pm: Live Outdoor Music with Mixed Precipitation at the intersection of Summit Ave. and Syndicate St. 
• October 17; 5-9pm: Movies in the Park: The Birds at Mears Park ($10) *registration required
• October 23-25; 10am-8pm: Harvest by the Lake Festival at Dock & Paddle, located inside the Como Lakeside Pavilion ($5/adults; $3.50/kids under 12)
• October 24; 10am-2pm: Halloween in Highland (Highland District Council)
• October 24; 1-5pm: Murder at the 19th Hole at Highland Park Disc Golf Course ($35/team) *registration required

• October 25; 2-4pm: Trunk or Treat Drive Thru (Martin Luther King, in partnership with Hallie Q. Brown Community Center)

Last Call for Winter Youth Basketball Registration

Deadline for registering for winter youth basketball is October 12. Programs will adhere to MSHSL, CDC and MN Department of Health guidance on COVID-19. For more information, visit the youth winter basketball website. 

Free Meals and Produce Distribution

To address growing food insecurity in Saint Paul due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the City is partnering with Youthprise, Arts-Us, and the Sanneh Foundation to provide free meal service to Saint Paul families in need.
