Curfew May 29

Mayor Carter has issued Executive Order 2020-11 establishing a night-time curfew effective at 8 p.m. tonight, Saturday, May 30.

The curfew is imposed in all Saint Paul public places from 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. from May 29-31. 

During curfew, no travel is allowed in any public street or place.

Exemptions include all law enforcement, fire and medical personnel, and members of the news media, as well as other personnel authorized by the City of Saint Paul, Minnesota Department of Public Safety, Minnesota State Patrol, or Minnesota National Guard. Other exemptions include individuals traveling directly to and from work, seeking emergency care, fleeing danger, or experiencing homelessness.

Violators of this Executive Order will be charged with a misdemeanor, punishable by a fine not to exceed $1,000 or imprisonment for not more than 90 days.

Highway Closures

The Minnesota Department of Transportation has announced the following HIGHWAY CLOSURES in effect beginning at 7 p.m. tonight:

  • I-35W north/south between I-694 & Hwy 62
  • I-35E north/south between Hwy 36 & Hwy 62
  • I-94 east/west between I-694 & the I-694/I-494 interchange
  • I-394 east between Hwy 100 & I-94
  • Hwy 55 north/south between Hwy 62 & I-94

Other Impacts

  • Metro Transit will suspend all bus and light rail service through the weekend. This suspension includes all Metro Transit bus, light rail, and Northstar service with one exception. An update regarding the return to service will be posted on MetroTransit.org and sent via Rider Alert by 8 p.m. on Sunday, May 31. Metro Mobility is continuing to operate where it is safe to do so throughout the service area.   • Access to be food continues to be a major concern for families during this emergency situation. Many free meal and food assistance programs are available in Ramsey County. Use the County’s interactive map to find programs near you, including food shelves, community gardens, farmers markets, grocery stores and delivery services. 

  • The downtown Skyway System is closed through 6 a.m. on June 1, 2020. Learn more.
