Rice Park Tree Lighting

Rice Park Tree Lighting

Kick-off the holiday season at the Rice Park Powered by Xcel Energy tree lighting and fireworks show this Saturday, November 23 from 4pm-7pm. Please note: the Wells Fargo WinterSkate rink will be moving to CHS Field in Lowertown as part of Destination Winter this year. See below for details. 

Securian SuperSlide

Destination Winter

The St. Paul Saints, Visit Saint Paul and the City of Saint Paul invite you to experience winter like never before at CHS Field. Destination Winter Saint Paul combines Wells Fargo WinterSkate ice rink with the return of the popular Securian SuperSlide for three months of frozen fun from Friday, December 6 - Saturday, February 22, weather permitting.

Adult Broomball

Adult Broomball

Get out and have fun with your friends on the ice this winter! Adult broomball registration is now open. Registration closes Monday, December 2 or whenever spaces are filled. Gameplay begins mid-December, weather permitting.

Closures and Special Notices

  • The Municipal Athletics office and batting cages at Rice/Arlington will close Wednesday, November 27 - Monday, December 9. They will reopen by noon on Tuesday, December 10. 
  • All recreation centers will close on Thursday, November 28 for Thanksgiving. Recreation centers will have limited hours or be closed on Friday, November 29. For a full list of holiday hours, visit our Holiday and Special Hours page. 
  • The Phalen Regional Park picnic pavilion, Lakeside Activity Center, and beach house parking lots are closed for the winter. See map for alternate parking lots.
  • The Pig's Eye Regional Park archery range is closed for the winter and will reopen in May.
