Highwood Hills Grand Reopening
Highwood Hills Recreation Center is set to reopen following a ribbon cutting ceremony on Monday, April 1 at 1pm. The recreation center is located within Highwood Hills Elementary School and has been closed since 2008. The reopening of this site showcases the continued partnership between the City of Saint Paul and Saint Paul Public Schools. Elected officials, including Mayor Melvin Carter, Councilmember Jane Prince, and Saint Paul Public Schools Superintendent Joe Gothard, as well as project partners, will share brief remarks at the ceremony. The public is also invited to attend an open house at the recreation center on Thursday, April 4 from 5-8pm.

Last Chance: Summer Sports/Spring Break
Youth summer sports registration ends this Sunday, March 31. Late registrations will be accepted if space allows. Spring Break starts Monday and space is still available for some programs.

Spring Flooding Causes Closures
The City of Saint Paul has declared a local flood emergency. Meeker Island Dog Park, Hidden Falls, Lilydale, Harriet Island, Raspberry Island, and Crosby Farm Regional Parks, including boat launches at these sites, are closed due to rising water and flood preparations. As the water continues to rise, please be cautious around low-lying trails and flooded areas. For your safety, please obey all road closures and barricades. Golf Course Updates
The Highland Driving Range is now open and the Highland 9 Golf Course is set to open Monday, April 1. Tee times for Highland 9 can be booked in advance online. The Highland National Golf Course is expected to open late next week if weather allows.

Mayor Skydives to Announce Return of Red Bull Flugtag
In case you missed it, Saint Paul Mayor Melvin Carter recently skydived into Harriet Island Regional Park to announce the return of Red Bull Flugtag! Red Bull Flugtag will return to Harriet Island this coming September 7, following an eight-year hiatus. Flugtag is a competition where teams attempt to fly home-made, human-powered flying machines over the Mississippi River.
