Purpose: An appeal of a Board of Zoning Appeal's decision denying two sign variances for the new Holiday Station: A) for the proposed sign at southwest intersection of White Bear Ave. and Old Hudson Road that would be a dynamic display sign that would change the message every 10 seconds and be full color (the code require the message to stay static for 20 minutes and can only be one color) and B) for a proposed freestanding pylon sign along the freeway at a height of 37.5 feet (the White Bear Avenue Special Sign District allows a maximum height of 20 feet) and to allow the sign within the setback area (the code only allows a freestanding pylon sign if the building is setback 35 feet from the south property line and the building is setback 5.5 feet).
