Description of Variance
Location: Events will be located outdoors at the La Placita Patio space, 193 Cesar Chavez Street
Noise Source: El Burrito Mercado, Milissa Diaz, President/Owner, has applied for a sound level variance, at a requested sound level of 80 dBA at no specified distance in order to provide live or recorded music outdoors at the La Placita patio space at 193 Cesar Chavez Street beginning Saturday, May 13, 2017 and consecutive Saturdays through September 16, 2017 for Fiestas en La Placita. The Department of Safety and Inspections recommends the following conditions: 1) Variance will be for live or recorded music from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. beginning Saturday, May 13, 2017 and consecutive Saturdays through September 16, 2017. 2) All electronically powered equipment, PA systems, loudspeakers or similar devices used in conjunction with the event must not exceed 80 dBA, as measured at 50 feet from the noise source. 3) The applicant shall provide personnel and equipment who will provide sound level monitoring to ensure compliance with the sound level variance conditions. 4) All electronically powered equipment, PA systems, loudspeakers or similar devices shall be turned off no later than 9:00 p.m. on each event date.
