October is Teen Read Down Month! Teens (ages 12-18) can eliminate $1 in fines for every 15 minutes of reading in the library.

“We want to make the library as accessible as possible for everyone,” said Saint Paul Public Library Director, Jane Eastwood. “We especially want youth to use the library and enjoy our programs and materials rather than have lingering fines or fees keep them away.” 

Banned Author Book Signing Metropolitan State University Library Saturday, Oct. 1, 3-5 p.m. Noted local authors including Pete Hautman, Phyllis Root, and Marion Dane Bauer will answer questions about their experiences with censorship.

ToshoCon Arlington Hills Community Center Saturday, Oct. 15, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Join us for an all-day anime convention!

Activities planned for ToshoCon

• Iron Cosplay costume making and contest
  Make your own costume in the Createch Studio and enter to win prizes in the Cosplay Contest!
• Art Contest
  Do you have artistic skills you are itching to show off?  Submit your art and you could win a selection of high –quality art supplies, plus have your art on display at the convention. Please fill out this form by Oct. 14.

  Try something new or compete against others, whether video, card or board games are your thing.
