Vision
The Saint Paul Grand Round is a scenic parkway for pedestrians, bicyclists, and motorists that connects people to parks, nature, neighborhoods, and businesses.
The goal of the current project is to design the master plan for the northern segment of the route and implement portions of the plan in 2016-2017 along Wheelock Parkway from Rice to Edgerton, Johnson Parkway from Burns Avenue to Phalen Boulevard, and on Pelham Boulevard.
Planning Schedule
Summer
2015: Preliminary Design.
City staff and project consultants held a week long work shop in June
and a series of Open Houses in July.
Throughout the summer we held 14 pop-up meetings throughout the
community.
Fall
2015: Currently we are
using input we received from the community and numerous stakeholders over the
course of the summer and fall to help guide our decisions as we refine the
draft concepts into a draft master plan.
Winter
2015-2016: The
draft master plan will be available for review and comment in early January
with an open house meeting to follow shortly after. A construction informational meeting will
follow the open house for the Wheelock segment to be constructed in 2016.
Spring
2016: Construction will begin on Wheelock between Rice and Edgerton, test closures on Johnson Parkway, and Pelham
striping.
