 Rec Check
Rec Check is a free after-school program for youth
grades 1–5 provided at sixteen local recreation centers on weekdays while school is in session. Children participate in a variety of structured, supervised activities, including tutoring sessions, craft-making, reading, and physical fitness. A daily snack is also provided. Registration must be done in person at the recreation center. For more information, visit stpaul.gov/reccheck.
When: Weekdays from 3pm-6pm while Saint Paul Public Schools are in session.

 People of Color PRIDE Festival
Celebrate the kick off of the first annual People of Color Pride Festival in the Twin Cities. There will be food, live performances, music, and vendors. People of Color LGBTQ Pride is a non-profit organization created to bridge the gap between ethnic groups of color and mainstream LGBTQ association.  How to Train Your Dragon Art Camp
Hiccup and all his dragon-training friends would love this fun art
class! The movie How to Train Your Dragon 2 inspires the project for
this class. We'll learn a new art term and then use Model Magic clay to
sculpt our own pet dragon. For more information, call Groveland Recreation Center at (651) 695-3714.

 Fun Fest at Watergate Marina
Watergate Marina invites you to enjoy free live music from artists Jake Nelson and Ash St. John around the firepit. BBQ and drinks will be available for purchase. No worries, no hurries, just relax and enjoy riverside paradise! For more information, call 651-695-3780.

Racquetball/Fitness Center Memberships
Edgcumbe Recreation Center is now offering unlimited racquetball memberships for $15/month. Membership also includes access to all recreation center fitness rooms. Members can reserve courts online for up to two hours daily during regular recreation center hours. Edgcumbe will be holding two free open houses for anyone interested in trying out racquetball on Wednesday, Sept. 9 from 5pm-8pm and Saturday, Sept. 12 from 9am-11am. There will be equipment on hand and an instructor to help beginners. For more information, call Edgcumbe Recreation Center at 651-695-3711.

Movies in the Parks
Bring
along a blanket or a lawn chair and enjoy a starlit night of fun with
friends and family! Movies typically begin at dusk but may
start earlier to allow younger children to attend. Titles are subject to
change. Some offer pre-show activities. All children under 10 years of
age must be accompanied by an adult. For more information, visit stpaul.gov/moviesintheparks.
Please note: May in the Summer on Wednesday, Aug. 19 at Mears Park is an R rated film and may not be appropriate for young audiences. The film begins at 8:30pm and will be preceded by a journal release reading at 7pm. For more information, visit mizna.org.
