PLANT & WILDLIFE SURVEY BONANZA

Friday, June 19 | 9:00-Noon | Trout Brook Nature Sanctuary

Help researchers collect and identify dragonflies, aquatic invertebrates, and wetland plants. Pick up a net and catch dragonflies in flight, get a peek at water striders through a microscope, and get an up-close view of the critters and plants that live in this new park. Other activities provided. Free and open to the public and appropriate for all knowledge levels and ages. Show up for the whole event or drop in. Brought to you in partnership with the Minnesota Dragonfly Society and Capitol Region Watershed District.

BUMBLEBEE SURVEY

Sunday, June 28 | 3:00-4:30 pm | Lake Como south of pavilion

Did you know that several threatened and declining bumblebee species live in the Twin Cities? Learn about these fascinating creatures while helping scientists study their populations. Bee biologists Elaine Evans and Joel Gardner from the U of MN Wild Bee Squad are responsible for identifying all the bumble bees. For more information, check out the event's registration page.
