Wakefield Township Garage Fire

On April 7, 2021 at 2:03 a.m., the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a call from a passerby reporting a detached garage that was on fire at the address of 17549 County Road 83 in Wakefield Township. The passerby alerted the homeowner, Patricia Stalboerger, 69, of the fire and she evacuated the residence.

The Cold Spring Fire Department, Rockville Fire Department and Richmond Fire Department all responded to the scene to contain and extinguish the fire which had fully engulfed the garage.

The garage, which was located approximately 20 feet from the main house, was considered at total loss. The cause of the fire is unknown.
