Baler Fire

Baler starts on fire in field in Eden Lake Township.

On April 17, 2020 at approximately 12:36 p.m., Stearns County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a baler on fire in a field just west of the intersection of County Road 34 and County Road 180 in Eden Lake Township.

Tyler Magedanz, 27, of Cold Spring, was bailing corn stalks when he noticed his New Holland baler was fully engulfed in flames. Magedanz unhitched the baler from the tractor. He attempted to extinguish the fire with a portable fire extinguisher but was unable to put the fire out. The baler was a complete loss.

Paynesville Fire extinguished the baler as well as some smaller pockets of fire in the field.

No one was injured.
