FAQ about Swimming at the Quarries

Swim Quarry

Frequently asked questions

Swimming in the quarries at Quarry Park:

Are the swim quarries open?

Yes! Quarry Park is open every day of the year from 8 am to ½ hour after sunset. The swim quarries are available whenever the park is open. Water temperature will determine if you want to go in! Just remember there are no lifeguards.

How late can you swim at the quarries?

The park closes at ½ hour after sunset so we suggest heading back to the parking lot at sunset.

Do I still have to pay if there isn’t anyone in the gatehouse?

Yes. There is a self-pay box. Simply fill out the envelope with the date, the vehicle’s license plate number, and mark daily ($5) or annual ($20). Tear off the “RECEIPT” portion and put on the dashboard. Put the money into the envelope and drop into the pay box slot. Failure to pay is a $10 fine.

What is the water temperature of the quarries?

Last week it was 60 degrees. The highest temperature in 2018 was 78 degrees.

Can we camp there?

No. No one is allowed in the park overnight. There is a list of licensed campgrounds on the Recreation tab of Stearns County website or check out www.visitstcloud.com for other area campgrounds.
