As was stated in the catalog, tours were not finalized at the time of the catalog production. Registration for these tours will open on August 13. Here are the opportunities to learn about various topics while visiting new venues:
593-Indigo Iris Farm Session 1: MONDAY—Aug. 25; 9 AM (8:15 AM Departure from NSRC) Fee: $48; Participants: 20

Indigo Iris Farm is a boutique, family-owned flower farm located in Clover, SC, specializing in unique, heirloom and specialty varieties of flowers. After a short farm tour and picking demonstration with the host, you will have full access to the flower fields to select your favorite blooms and sit in the covered building to create a beautiful bouquet to take home. Snips will be provided to borrow and guidance given on how to arrange fresh blooms. *Transportation will be provided for those who need it.
594/595-Sleeping Giant Distillery (SGD) Tour Session 1: THURSDAY—Sep. 11: 594—1 PM; 595—2 PM Fee: $10 paid directly to SGD; Participants: 15 per tour

As this local rum distillery continues to grow in Rock Hill, it is time to learn more about the distilling process. You MUST register for one of the two tours to reserve your spot, but you will PAY THE ESTABLISHMENT DIRECTLY for the tour and tasting. Do not miss this fun opportunity to learn about the elaborate productions taking place right in the heart of Rock Hill!
*Participants will meet at the distillery. The tour and tasting will last about 45-50 minutes, and you will be on your feet the majority of the time.

During this self-guided visit, you will have access to the 105,000 square-foot campus, featuring over 40 historic aircraft, flight simulators, interactive exhibits and aviation career games. Afterwards, we will go to the Airport Overlook to experience an unobstructed view of takeoffs and landings on the airfield, as well as exhibits about aviation history in the Carolinas and descriptions of planes and equipment. Please pack a lunch to enjoy at the Overlook. *Transportation will be provided.

540-The Federal Reserve Explained John Proctor Session 2: THURSDAY—Oct. 16; 1 PM Fee: $5; Seats: 40
This lecture begins with a review of the impact of tariffs on the economy and will then dive into the basics of the Federal Reserve—what it is, why it exists and how it influences the US economy. This lecture will discuss the changing value of the dollar and how the Fed works to maintain economic stability.
599-Creating Fused Glass Art Bill Belchee & Kim Fulmer Session 1: FRIDAYS--Aug. 22 & 29; 9:30 AM Fee: $25; Seats: 16
In the first class, you will choose molds to create and design four unique pieces that will be fired in a kiln. In the second class, you will transform these pieces into beautiful jewelry or standalone artworks. Experience the captivating physical and chemical properties of this versatile medium as you explore its creative possibilities.
