JANUARY 17, 11:30 AM: On behalf of the South Carolina Humanities Speakers Bureau, author and journalist, Claudia Smith Brinson returns to Rock Hill, along with Cecil Williams, to present: "A Black Civil Rights Photographer's Stories of Protests, Arrests and Deaths." In this Lunch & Learn event, Ms. Smith Brinson and Mr. Williams will share stories and experiences that appear in the book they coauthored, Injustice in Focus: The Civil Rights Photography of Cecil Williams. JANUARY 25,11:30 AM: In this Lunch & Learn event, Dr. Scott Huffmon of Winthrop University will present: "A Primer on Polling and Insight into the Presidential Primaries." Dr. Huffmon will discuss the science behind survey research, the challenges of polling in the modern cell phone era and the nuts and bolts of the presidential caucuses and primaries. Cost: $15 (*Lunch will be catered from Olive Garden.)
JANUARY 31: Cecil Williams Civil Rights Museum Tour, Orangeburg, SC. We will meet at Northside Recreation Center at 8 AM. The guided tour by Mr. Williams is at 10:30 AM. We will stop for lunch after the museum visit and should return to Rock Hill by 4:30 PM. Cost: $40 + lunch.
