County offices, drop-off sites will close Monday

Richland County Government offices and collection sites will close Monday, Sept. 7, for the Labor Day holiday.

There will be no curbside trash collection service Monday. Collection routes scheduled for that day will be picked up Tuesday, Sept. 8, and all regularly scheduled collections for the week will be delayed one day.

While offices are closed, many services are accessible on the County’s website, including those of the Auditor, Treasurer, Assessor and other offices.

State Guard, equestrian champs, others honored

Richland County Councilmembers recognized several local entities during Council's meeting Tuesday:

A resolution was presented to the S.C. State Guard recognizing National Preparedness Month and the Guard's work to support emergency readiness and response efforts in the state. Sheriff Leon Lott (pictured at right) gave remarks on the organization's behalf.
A resolution celebrated the University of South Carolina equestrian team (pictured at top) for its historic 2025 National Collegiate Equestrian Association Championship.
A resolution commemorated the work of The B Strong Group and recognized September as Sickle Cell Awareness Month in the County.
A proclamation honored County native Rebecca Anderson for her lifetime of providing nourishment, encouragement and generosity to the Hopkins community.

Congratulations to all of the recipients!
