 Longtime custodian, crew leader lauded for 33-year service
Richland County recently celebrated Ruby Alston, the County's longtime custodian and custodial crew leader who is retiring in August after more than 33 years of service. On June 25, staff took time to honor "Ms. Ruby" for her more than three decades of dependable, dedicated and distinguished service with a drop-in at the Administration Building in Columbia..
On Tuesday, Richland County Council presented Alston with a resolution honoring her service.

One more week to volunteer for local boards, committees
Richland County offers opportunities to stay active in local government through serving on one of several volunteer boards and committees. County resident gives kudos to Public Works team member
A Richland County employee was recently recognized for setting a high bar for remarkable service:
- A resident contacted the County to compliment Travis Thomas, of the Public Works team. The resident said they contacted Thomas about a transportation project and that he went above and beyond to assist them.
