William Hilton Parkway Gateway Corridor Project: Where Are We Now?
Join Us at an Upcoming Meeting to Find Out
Hilton Head Island, SC – March 7, 2024 – The Gullah Geechee Historic Neighborhoods Community Development Corporation (CDC) invites area residents to a community meeting on Thursday, March 14th. The purpose of this gathering is to solicit valuable feedback regarding the ongoing William Hilton Parkway Gateway Corridor Project.
Entitled "Where Are We Now?," the meeting will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the community meeting room at the Hilton Head Island branch library, 11 Beach City Road.
Agenda items for the meeting are as follows:
• An update on the current right-of-way proposal for William Hilton Parkway.
• Facilitated small group discussions to analyze the proposal and formulate recommendations for William Hilton Parkway.
• Discussion on the next steps moving forward.

About the Gullah Geechee Historic Neighborhoods Community Development Corporation Formed by the Hilton Head Island Town Council in September 2022, the Gullah Geechee Historic Neighborhoods Community Development Corporation is dedicated preserving heritage and fostering progress within the island’s culturally and historically significant neighborhoods. These areas encompass Bay Gall, Big Hill, Chaplin, Gardner, Grassland, Jarvis, Jonesville, Marshland, Mitchelville, Old House Creek, Spanish Wells, Squire Pope, Little Stoney, and Big Stoney. Nestled on the northern tip of the island, these neighborhoods once thrived as centers of African American entrepreneurship, communal gatherings, and intergenerational kinship.
