Parks and Recreation Commission 2022 Work Plan
The Parks and Rec Commission recently adopted a 2022 Work Plan outlining tentative business for Commissioners to conduct during their regularly scheduled meetings next year.
The Parks and Recreation Commission mission is to “make recommendations for the establishment of an effective parks and recreation system for the citizens and residents of the Town.” The purpose of this Work Plan is to enhance the Commission's work towards upholding their mission and duties, including an annual review of the 2019 Parks and Recreation Master Plan.
Chaplin Community Park, Crossings Park, and Mid-Island Projects
Our design teams continue their process to develop initial concept plans for each park.
There will be opportunities for Town Officials and the public to review and weigh in on the plans in coming months. Announcements will be made via the Town's social media, press releases and CIP newsletter about up-coming meetings, workshops, and events related to these projects.

Farewell Parks and Rec Newsletter
This is the final official Parks and Rec Master Plan Newsletter. Thank you to the Island parks and rec community for supporting our the master planning efforts over these last few years! This is certainly not the end of our communications with you about parks and recreation.
The creation of a new Capital Projects Division at the Town this year allows staff the opportunity to take a holistic approach to managing and communicating about the CIP. This newsletter will encompass all CIP projects and important information.
Along with park updates, we will be introducing our staff, spotlighting priority projects, and sharing opportunities for how the community can stay informed and involved.
