|
Last Week
Last Thursday staff presented a Parks + Recreation Master Plan update at the regular November Parks and Recreation Commission meeting. The update provided an overview of the community engagement activities to date, as well as the results from the live polling conducted in the virtual Town Hall meetings held in October. The meeting video is available on the Town's Public Meeting Facebook page.
This Week
Open Park Day is this Thursday!
Our second Open Park Day is this Thursday, November 19 from 1:00pm to 5:00pm at Shelter Cove Community Park. Drop in for this open house style (socially distanced) event being held in the outdoors at one of our wonderful parks. Staff will have four stations set up with information about the Master Plan and opportunities for you to weigh in about the parks and recreation recommendations for the Island.
Coming Up

Three Ways to Participate
All three types of opportunity to participate will cover similar information and gather input from you. Join the conversation for one or all of them. Thank you to everyone who has participated in the process so far this fall!
1. Parks + Recreation Survey
We are hosting an Open Town Hall survey with questions about your preferences for our parks and recreation system based on the Recommendations and Actions Items in Our Plan. There are also questions about facility and amenity programming for the three parks.
2. Virtual Town Hall Meetings
The Virtual Town Hall meetings are over for this round of Parks + Recreation. You can check out the meetings in the video archive of the Town's Public Meetings Facebook Page. Stay tuned for more opportunities to engage with the Town through this medium!
3. Open Park Days
Meet us outside to talk about your ideas for our parks at one of our Open Park Days. Staff will be set up with maps and comment cards to hear from you. Social distancing will be enforced.
