Dorchester County Hurricane Preparedness: Stay Safe This Season
As we've reached hurricane season, we encourage all of our residents to prepare now to keep themselves and their families safe. Start by making a family emergency plan. Decide how you will communicate, where you will go if you need to evacuate, and where you will meet if you get separated. Put together an emergency kit with things like non-perishable food, water, medicines, flashlights, batteries, and important documents. Make sure you have enough supplies to last at least three days.
It's also important to know your evacuation zone. Residents of Dorchester County can visit hurricane.sc to find out their zone and get more tips on hurricane preparedness. This website has lots of information on what to do before, during, and after a hurricane. Let's work together to make sure everyone in our community is ready for hurricane season. Stay alert, get prepared, and stay safe.
