Dorchester County Accepting Applications for Summer Youth Employment Program
Dorchester County is now accepting applications for the 2020 Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP).
The program is designed to provide teenagers and young adults (ages 16-22) who reside in Dorchester County an opportunity to develop workplace readiness skills, provide exposure to the work world, and gain experience in local government. A variety of opportunities are available within Dorchester County Government in office administration, customer service, and the field of general labor.
Eligible individuals must meet the following criteria:
- Be between the ages of 16 – 22 at the time of application submission
- Be currently enrolled in high school or college (proof of enrollment is required)
- Be a resident of Dorchester County
- Available to work a minimum of 20 hours, per week
The eight-week program begins on Monday, June 22 and ends on Friday, August 7.
The application deadline is 5:00 PM on May 28 or until 100 applications have been received, whichever occurs first.
Applications can be submitted online at www.DorchesterCountySC.gov/jobs. Paper applications will not be accepted. Applicants without access to a computer may use a computer in the Dorchester County Human Resources Department located at 201 Johnston Street, St. George, SC 29477.
