For Twining Valley Dog Park fob holders, we wanted to take the opportunity to remind you about a few park rules and also provide some updates about the future of the site.
For all park users’ safety and comfort, please keep in mind the following rules that must be followed:
- All dogs must be on-leash until they are in the fenced-in area. Regardless of how well your dog listens, dogs cannot be off-leash in the parking lot, on the trail, or while traveling to and from the fenced area. There was recently an incident where an unleashed dog ran onto Twining Road from the parking lot and nearly caused an accident – luckily no one was injured.
- Smoking is prohibited in all Upper Dublin Township parks, including the Twining Valley Dog Park. This includes (but is not limited to) cigarettes, cigars, e-cigarettes, vapes, and marijuana.
- Do not open the entry gate for anyone, even if the person appears to/has a fob. One of the purposes of the fob system is record who enters the park in case of an incident. Most of our reported incidents are when someone lets someone else in.
- Provided dog bags are for use while at the dog park, not to stock up for your personal use after you have left the dog park. Please be respectful of this provided amenity.
* If you view rules being violated, please contact the UDP&R front desk at 215-643-1600 x3443 Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm. If occurring at a time that the UDP&R office is closed, please email the P&R Director at DDureka@upperdublin.net. For emergency situations, please dial 9-1-1.
2025 will hopefully bring some welcomed additions to Twining Valley Dog Park, including:
- As part of our capital budget, UDP&R has requested funding for a shade structure in the large dog park. If funded, it will be installed by the summertime.
- The hill in the large dog park will be lowered to increase visibility throughout the enclosure.
- More benches will be added in each enclosure and along the trail system. The Township does have a memorial and commemorative bench donation program for those that are interested in assisting with this effort.
- We continue to work on getting water to the site. There is no public water in the section of Twining Road by the dog park so we are working to gain access to it from another location.
- We continue to work on constructing a trail connection from School Lane (Thomas Fitzwater Elementary School) to Twining Valley Park via the Sunny Willow Swim Club.
- Railing will be installed in the small dog park to assist with navigating the terrain.
- Mondaug Bark Park (UDT dog park on Camphill Road) renovations are 90% complete – extensive work was done by Parks Division staff. The only remaining items are the installation of additional trees, more grass seeding, and the installation of the fob access system. Once opened, dog park fob users will have access to Mondaug Bark Park in addition Twining Valley Dog Park. Mondaug Bark Park is still scheduled to reopen in Fall 2026, but will open earlier if conditions allow for it.
