Discussions on the Topic of Dogs in Township Parks and Trails
We want to hear your thoughts and input about your general and safety-related experiences and new ideas for optimum usage for everyone!
Please send email to tcohen@radnor.org to be added to the interest list for important meetings and notifications.

|
Please remember..
Dogs are ONLY permitted in the following parks:
Emlen Tunnel Park, Friends of Radnor Trail Park, Harford Park, Ithan Valley Park, North Wayne Park, Petrie Avenue Park, Saw Mill Park, Skunk Hollow Park, and the Radnor Trail.
Please note that dogs are not permitted at the Willows Park except in the main parking lot near the Skunk Hollow Trail access.
|
|
|
The following are reminders so that can work together to keep our parks and trails as places that everyone (both 2- and 4- legged!) can enjoy year round!
1.) While dogs are not required by Township code to be on a leash in our parks, they are required to be under control and close to his/her owner at all times. Please be courteous of others who share the parks and trails with your pet.
2.) Leaving waste on the ground is a health hazard! Look for receptacles located throughout our parks for bags and garbage bins that you can use to quickly clean up after your pet. Receptacles/Bag Stations are not located everywhere, so we strongly suggest bringing your own bags with you and taking your trash with you when you leave the park. Please do not deposit waste bags in our parks or on our trails!
Please report emergency issues by dialing 9-1-1!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR COOPERATION!

Fenimore Woods Upper Parking Lot Closure
The Fenimore Woods upper parking lot along Eagle Road will be closed for area project equipment storage through February and will be re-evaluated. The lower lot will remain open for public parking.

|
|
|
Ithan Valley Park Bridge Closure
After a recent engineering assessment of the Ithan Valley Bridge structures, it has been determined that the downstream/southernmost of the two bridges into the park is undermined and must be closed until further notice so that vehicles cannot access the bride in either direction. The upstream bridge can remain open and will temporarily serve as both the entrance and exit for vehicular traffic at the park. Please use caution in the area.

Radnor County friends, family, and supporters of EMLEN TUNNELL,
Good morning! I hope everyone is doing well across the world! I wanted to provide a few updates about Coast Guard Cutter EMLEN TUNNELL since we started our journey in Philly for the cutter’s commissioning ceremony on October 15, 2021.
Since then, we have traveled over 14,000 nautical miles from Key West, Florida to Manama, Bahrain where the cutter is homeported. The transit took us 99 days and we traveled to 12 foreign countries along the way. Despite some challenges with winter weather and COVID-19, the crew was able to experience some extraordinary port calls and safely sail EMLEN TUNNELL through the Strait of Gibraltar, Mediterranean Sea, Suez Canal, Red Sea, Arabian Sea and Persian Gulf until we finally made our way to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
While here in the Middle East, TUNNELL and her crew work for the U.S. Navy to support and defend international partnerships, regional stability, and the free-flow of commerce. Our missions are fast paced and exciting. TUNNELL is still the fastest boat of her class here in Bahrain, consistently living up to her namesake and embodying our ship’s motto of “offense on defense.” We call our small boat “Gremlin” after Emlen’s nickname in the NFL. I attached a few photos from our various adventures. I apologize in advance for the poor quality; we have a hard time sending large files off the ship.
Thank you for the important role you play in the legacy of Emlen Tunnell. Please forward along to anyone we may have missed and feel free to contact us any time. My Executive Officer and I are available to answer any questions or public affairs inquiries. Sending you all my best wishes as we approach the holiday season!
V/r LT Patrick Kelly Commanding Officer CGC EMLEN TUNNELL (WPC 1145)
