CitiParks 2026 Farmers Markets Starting in May
Pittsburgh, PA – The City of Pittsburgh’s 2026 Farmers Market season is kicking off this month. Hosted by CitiParks’ Office of Special Events, citywide Farmers Markets offer residents weekly opportunities to shop for fresh, local, and sustainable food options, right in their own neighborhoods.
Three farmers markets will operate from May to November, providing selections of farm-fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, eggs, breads, and dairy for purchase from area growers and bakers. Additional items such as flowers, canned goods, hand-made home and body products, and hot prepared food selections will be available at select locations. Community organizations and partners will also participate, providing resources and information at each site.
“Farmers markets are an important investment in lifting up local growers and small businesses, while also providing an essential need for our neighborhoods,” said Eric Sloan, Director of the Department of Parks and Recreation. “We’re happy to continue supporting the local food ecosystem with our market offerings this year.”
Sunday markets in Squirrel Hill open on May 10 with a special celebration of Mother’s Day, and additional featured events and themed weeks are scheduled throughout the season at all markets. The Northside Market will continue to host a beer garden and musical entertainment on the last Friday of every month.
City of Pittsburgh-operated markets will be open the following dates:

Sundays, 9 AM – 1 PM - Squirrel Hill
(May 10 – November 21) Beacon/Bartlett parking lot

Wednesdays, 3 PM – 7 PM - Carrick
(May 27 – October 28) Carrick Dairy District, 1529 Brownsville Rd.

Fridays, 3 PM – 7 PM - Northside
(May 29 – November 20) Allegheny Commons Park at E. North & Cedar Ave.
The former East End location at Liberty Green Park will no longer operate as a full market, but will host independent vendors on Mondays from 3 PM – 7 PM in a farm stand setup during the season.
All three CitiParks markets accept SNAP benefits, debit and credit cards through the Fresh Access program from Just Harvest, allowing shoppers to exchange funds for tokens that can be used to purchase their fresh produce and other items directly from vendors.
