Allegheny County and City of Pittsburgh:
Non-Essential Employee Dismissal on Monday, November 4
PITTSBURGH -- Due to the confluence of two presidential campaign rallies scheduled for downtown on Monday, November 4, Allegheny County and the City of Pittsburgh are jointly announcing an early dismissal for non-essential County and City workers on Monday at noon. The City and the County are also encouraging individuals and businesses to avoid unnecessary travel in and around downtown Monday afternoon to reduce traffic and parking congestion likely to be caused by the events.
County Executive Innamorato and Mayor Gainey said: “With expected road closures and traffic for both rallies on Monday, we want County and City employees to be able to get home safely and with minimal disruption. We encourage everyone who visits downtown for a rally on Monday to respectfully and peacefully make their voice heard and we are looking forward to a smooth Election Day on Tuesday.”
The County Office Building will remain open until 4:30 pm on Monday for ballot return. Other ballot return sites across the county will be open until 7:00 pm on Monday. County row offices and the courts will make their own determination on hours of operation on Monday.
