City of Pittsburgh Selects Bounce Marketing & Events for Juneteenth

Bounce Marketing & Events brings national expertise with local experience to Juneteenth Celebration

Pittsburgh, PA – Today the City of Pittsburgh announced the selection of Bounce Marketing & Events to receive the contract for the City-sponsored 2024 Juneteenth Celebration. 

“Bounce Marketing & Events has a proven track record of creating events to uplift and celebrate our city,” said Mayor Ed Gainey. “With their local knowledge and national experience, Bounce will help us reach our goal of ensuring that Juneteenth is on par with the Fourth of July.”

Bounce Marketing & Events is a local marketing agency, founded by Fantasy Zellars, that since 1997 has created events for various organizations locally and nationally, such as the August Wilson Birthday Celebration Block Party for the past seven years, JBL Grammy Awards Party, NAACP and National Urban League 100 Year Anniversary Campaigns, Walmart’s Conference Sponsorship Activations for the past ten years, as well as Mayor Gainey’s inauguration Swearing In and Gala and the City’s 50th anniversary of Hip-Hop celebration in 2023.

Bounce Marketing & Events was selected via the RFP (Request For Proposal) to solicit Juneteenth events that ensured a visible, clear and open process on how public funds were being spent. Of the three private event promoters that entered a bid for the opportunity, the Evaluation Committee determined that Bounce Marketing & Events was the best option, given their experience on a local and national scale. 

As the selected event organizer, Bounce Marketing & Events will organize the official, Cit-sponsored Juneteenth celebration, which is anticipated to occur alongside other private and non-profit sponsored celebrations of the national holiday. 

The Office of Management and Budget will send legislation authorizing the contract to Pittsburgh City Council on Friday, May 10th, 2024 for consideration.
