Philadelphia Water Department to host Open House on Saturday, June 6!

Drinking Water Treatment Plant Tours
The Philadelphia Water Department (PWD) is opening its doors to the public for drinking water treatment plant tours on Saturday, June 6, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The event will take place at the department’s Belmont Water Treatment Plant, 4300 W Ford Road, Philadelphia, PA 19131.
This tour demonstrates the water treatment process, including how the department keeps your tap water safe to drink and use every day.
Please note: This registration is only for the treatment plant tour.

Employee Unit Displays
The Open House is a great opportunity to meet employees who keep the department running.
Our employees have roles that make a difference, including semi-skilled laborers, environmental engineers, plant managers, communications staff, and customer service representatives.
During the Open House, you can visit PWD unit displays and ask the employees about their work.

Employment Trade Programs
During the Open House, you can meet the PWD and City of Philadelphia Human Resources teams to find out what jobs are available and when job applications will be available online.
PWD and some City of Philadelphia jobs are reentry-friendly!
You can also speak to the following organizations offering trade programs and reentry resources that will help prepare individuals seeking employment at the Philadelphia Water Department and other city jobs:
- Division of Reentry - Office of Public Safety PHL
- PowerCorps PHL
- Philadelphia Technician Training Institute
- Orleans Technical College
- The Academy of Industrial Arts - Electrician Program
These programs can help jump-start your career with the City of Philadelphia!

Important Tips
- Bring your current driver’s license and state ID to enter the event space.
- Be prepared to check in at the PWD registration tents and complete a liability waiver to be on-site.
- If you are taking the tour, you must register.
- Please wear comfortable shoes/clothing. Jeans and sneakers are highly recommended.
