This email is a general reminder to customers that a temporary pause on water shutoffs due to non-payment ended Monday, April 1. This is not a notice of an immediate shutoff.
PWD wants to help you lower your water bill. Anyone having trouble paying their water bill should apply for help immediately. Assistance programs are designed to help customers who are:
- Low income
- Seniors
- Experiencing a Special Hardship
For example, one of our assistance programs, Tiered Assistance Program (TAP), can provide considerable savings to eligible water customers. People with unpaid bills and lower incomes may be eligible for reduced monthly payment agreements or other assistance programs. If you don’t qualify for income-based assistance, other grants and benefit programs are available.
If you need assistance filling out an application, please visit a TAP Partner Site. Customers who apply with a partner's help usually finish their applications in about 15 minutes!
Don’t wait until a shutoff happens
The best way to avoid a water shut off is to pay your water bill in full. If you are ready to pay your water bill, you can pay online or call 215-685-6300 to securely pay over the phone or get more information.
We’re working with outreach teams from the City's Office of Community Empowerment and Opportunity (CEO) to help customers in need. Customers in danger of shutoff will be contacted by CEO to help you keep your water service from being shut off.
Protect your privacy: Our outreach teams will never ask for payment information. We may contact you over the phone, by text, or at your door to answer your questions and point you towards additional resources.
Without taking action towards unpaid water bills, crews will arrive at homes to shut off water in the near future. Visits from our crews to restore water will add hundreds of dollars in fees. Take care of your outstanding bill now, before it grows higher than you can pay!
