Do you know there is a new fund that provides financial assistance to homeowners? More than $20 million has been distributed already in Philadelphia.
The Pennsylvania Homeowner Assistance Fund (PAHAF) is a housing-related grant program that provides financial assistance to homeowners for qualified expenses to address payment delinquency and avoid unfortunate outcomes like default, foreclosure, or displacement.
Homeowners can receive up to $50,000 to avoid financial hardships. And homeowners who receive PAHAF funds do not have to pay that money back!
PAHAF assistance can be used to help with:
- Delinquent utilities, including water bills
- Mortgage reinstatement
- Forward mortgage payment
- Property charges
PAHAF applications are now open. Don’t wait to apply — funding may run out, and back debt and penalties on unpaid bills will continue to add up.
If you don’t qualify for PAHAF, water customer assistance applications are always available. The city has programs that can reduce some of the burden of utility payments to homeowners.
