We mark the completion of our 10th year this June!
And we are proud to report Philadelphia is on track to meet pollution reduction goals. Green tools and other infrastructure investments made since 2011 will collectively keep nearly 3 billions gallons of stormwater and sewer overflow pollution from impacting local waterways in 2021.
A roughly 21-percent annual drop in the top pollution source impacting local waterways is worthy of plenty of celebration. But we don't want to lose sight of another remarkable accomplishment: the growth of Green City, Clean Waters is being driven by engaged community members like you.
That is no accident. As documented in our first Year 10 blog installation, one of the main goals established when designing the plan was to bring communities into the process of healing waterways.
Over the last decade, block by block, building by building, you've worked with us to grow the network of green tools that protect the waterways we share.
That is why we are especially honored to highlight more than 400,000 individuals from dozens of communities who continue to support this city-transforming 25-year mission.
Follow our multi-part series diving into the first 10 years of Green City, Clean Waters: the nation's leading green infrastructure project and an ambitious bid to reshape how we manage stormwater.
