 Lithium-Ion Battery Disposal
Properly disposing of lithium-ion batteries will keep you and your community safe. Some tips for safe disposal include:
- Remove lithium batteries when disposing of rechargeable electronics, if possible.
- Do not put discarded batteries in piles. Keep them clean and separated.
- Tape both ends of your batteries or place each battery in a separate plastic bag when done with them.
- Recycle batteries at a local retailer that accepts high-energy lithium batteries like Staples, Home Depot and Lowes.

This group is perfect for players who know the basics of American Mah Jongg and want to sharpen their skills in a friendly, low-pressure setting. No need to be an expert—just bring your love of the game and enjoy playing with others! We supply the tiles and table. Please bring your own 2026 card.
If you are new to Mah Jongg, look out for beginner lessons coming to the library this fall.

 Pilot Community Compost Program
The Lower Merion Township Pilot Community Compost Program provides an easy solution for keeping your organic waste out of the trash. Participants take their organic waste to a local drop-off location, where it is then picked up by Mother Compost.

 Don’t Wait to Register Your Student for LMSD!
NOW is the time to register your new student so they can begin the 2026-2027 school year on time.
While LMSD’s New Student Registration remains open year-round, students who are not registered until mid-August or later:
May not be able to begin school on the first day.
May have to wait for a school bus assignment.
May be more likely to be partner-schooled.
To begin the Registration process, visit the Registration page of the District website. There you will find:

Don’t wait. Register your new student today!
Please note:
Families new to the District may not begin the registration process until residency within the District is established.
New student registration is required for younger siblings, even if an older sibling is a current student.
o Registration is not “per family.” A new registration is required for each new student who will attend school.
Students who attended school in LMSD during the 2025-2026 school year do not have to re-register.
LMSD Families who move over the summer must inform LMSD of their change of address.
 Volunteer with Lower Merion Sustainability

 Adults age 65+ can travel FREE on all SEPTA transit routes and Regional Rail if their departure and arrival stations are in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania with the SEPTA Senior Key Card.
