A Refuse and Recycling holiday collection schedule
will be in effect for November 25-November 29
due to Thanksgiving Day holiday.
There will be no Refuse or Recycling Collection
on Thursday, November 28th.
 Lower Merion Township Burn Ban in Effect
Lower Merion Township has declared a temporary burn ban effective Friday, November 1, 2024, and will last 30 days, expiring on Saturday, November 30, 2024, due to the record setting extended period of dry conditions affecting Lower Merion Township and the potential for uncontrollable fire spread and wildfires. This burn ban prohibits open fires, including recreational fire pits and fireworks within Lower Merion Township.
All Lower Merion Township issued recreational fire permits will be revoked during the burn ban. Lower Merion is committed to the safety of our community, and we thank you for your cooperation, as we work together to keep our Township and its residents safe.

Township Advisory Board Vacancies
The Township of Lower Merion is seeking qualified Township residents to serve on the following advisory boards:

Environmental Advisory Council: The Environmental Advisory Council (EAC) is composed of not more than 9 residents of the Township who serve 4-year terms of office. The EAC typically meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. The EAC provides advice to the Board of Commissioners and Planning Commission for the promotion and conservation of natural resources and for the protection and improvement of the quality of the environment within the Township. Three members are being sought. Professional experience in municipal land use legislation, clean energy transition, ecological landscape design, sustainability management, greenhouse gas reduction or energy efficiency is required. Human Relations Commission (alternate): The Human Relations Commission (HRC) is composed of 7 members and 2 alternates who serve 3-year terms of office. The HRC typically meets at 7:00 p.m. on the first Thursday of every other month. The purpose of the HRC is to ensure that all persons, regardless of race, color, religious creed, ancestry, age, sex, national origin, physical or mental disability, use of guide or support animals because of the blindness, deafness or physical or mental disability of the user or because the user is a handler or trainer of support or guide animals, or because of a person's sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression enjoy the full benefits of citizenship and are afforded equal opportunities for employment, housing, commercial property, and the use of public accommodations, in Lower Merion Township. Two alternates are being sought. An alternate may participate in any proceeding or discussion but shall not be entitled to vote as a regular member unless seated. Professional experience in equal opportunity laws, investigation of complaints, dispute resolution including mediation, or as a human relations professional is required. Uniform Construction Code Appeals Board: The Uniform Construction Code Appeals Board (UCCAB) is composed of five members and two alternates who are residents of the Township. These individuals serve 5-year terms of office. The purpose of the UCCAB is to hear and decide appeals of orders, decisions or determinations made by the Code Official relative to the application and interpretation of the Uniform Construction Code. One alternate is being sought. An alternate may participate in any proceeding or discussion but shall not be entitled to vote as a regular member unless seated. Members must be qualified by experience and training to deliberate on matters pertaining to building construction.
