Help Shape the Arts on Bala Avenue!
We’re gathering community input to enhance Bala Avenue with vibrant art forms like public art and performing arts, and we need your thoughts to make this vision a reality!
What is an arts plan? An arts plan is a strategic document that creates an artistic vision for an area, developed with community input to reflect your values and interests. It outlines the physical opportunities for creating works of art and guides future art investments from the public, private, and philanthropic sectors.
Why is this important? The arts are a fantastic way to bring our community together and foster a creative identity for our neighborhood. They are a key part of creating a livelier, more welcoming space for everyone.
How can you help? Please take a few moments to complete our survey and share your thoughts on adding art to Bala Avenue. Your input will directly influence the arts plan and help shape the future of our community. The survey will remain open until August 12, 2024.
Get involved! Visit the Bala Avenue Arts Walk on Sunday, September 15, for more ways to participate and engage with the arts in our community.

Thank you for helping us create a more vibrant and artistic Bala Avenue!

Composting 101
Composting is an impactful way to reduce your footprint and help our local ecosystem. According to the EPA, over 50% of the trash in your bin could be compostable. There are numerous ways residents can compost in Lower Merion Township:
-
Off-site: The Township is piloting Community Compost Collection Sites, which allow residents to collect their food scraps at home and drop them off at a nearby collection bin. Fill out the interest form to be notified when registration opens at a pilot location near you!
-
At home: There are several ways to compost at home, whether indoors or outdoors. Check out this recording to learn some Backyard Composting Basics, or register for the next webinar in October!
-
Private Pick-up Services: Several companies in the area offer curbside compost pick-up services. This website lists several companies that offer this service in the Township.
