Fireworks Tips for Pet Owners
Whether for the Fourth of July, New Year’s Eve, or another celebration, many dog owners deal with howling, barking, and generally anxious dogs during fireworks. It’s even largely believed that Independence Day is the day when the highest number of dogs run away.
Click on the blue button below for some tips from the American Kennel Club on how to keep your dog calm this Independence Day.

Sidewalk Program Community Input
and Discussion Meeting
The public is invited on Tuesday July 16th from 6 pm to 8 pm to share input and have discussion with Township staff regarding the Township’s sidewalk improvement program in the 2nd floor Board Room of the Township Administration Building at 75 East Lancaster Avenue in Ardmore.
There is increased interest in pedestrian mobility and safety throughout the Township and there has been significant public interest in improving our community’s sidewalk network.
In October 2023, the Lower Merion Board of Commissioners adopted a Sidewalk Policy within the Capital Improvement Plan to fund new sidewalks identified in the Township’s Comprehensive Plan.
To improve the mobility of residents and lessen the dependance on congested roadways, the Board and Staff identified a preliminary list of 14 high priority sidewalk projects to be installed throughout the Township.
This public meeting is being held to inform residents regarding the recent sidewalk improvements in the township, implementation challenges, and to explain the criteria behind the identification of high priority projects. Staff will be seeking input regarding potential additional sidewalk segments, as well as input regarding identified high priority segments.
For additional information please contact Christopher Leswing, Director of the Building and Planning Department at cleswing@lowermerion.org
