Sidewalk Program Community Input
and Discussion Meeting
The public is invited on Thursday June 13th from 6 pm to 7:30 pm to share input and have discussion with Township staff regarding the Township’s sidewalk improvement program in the 2nd floor Board Room of the Township Administration Building at 75 East Lancaster Avenue in Ardmore.
There is increased interest in pedestrian mobility and safety throughout the Township and there has been significant public interest in improving our community’s sidewalk network.
In October 2023, the Lower Merion Board of Commissioners adopted a Sidewalk Policy within the Capital Improvement Plan to fund new sidewalks identified in the Township’s Comprehensive Plan.
To improve the mobility of residents and lessen the dependance on congested roadways, the Board approved a preliminary list of 14 high priority sidewalk projects to be installed throughout the Township.
This public meeting is being held to inform residents regarding the recent sidewalk improvements in the township, implementation challenges, and to explain the criteria behind the identification of high priority projects. Staff will be seeking input regarding potential additional sidewalk segments, as well as input regarding identified high priority segments.
For additional information please contact Christopher Leswing, Director of the Building and Planning Department at cleswing@lowermerion.org

 Eco-Friendly Mosquito Control
Spraying for mosquitos is non-toxic for mammals, but not for beneficial insects such as bees, butterflies, and moths. It can kill these insects and adversely affect birds, reptiles, and other mammals that depend on insects for food.
Choose eco-friendly methods on your property instead! These include:
Mosquitos are slow flyers, so put fans on your porch or patio and experiment with the best placement and angle. You can also use insect repellant with DEET, wear long-sleeved shorts and pants, and wear permethrin-treated clothing!
Mosquitos hatch in water, so you can prevent their hatching by removing pools of water. Check downspouts, outdoor furniture, and toys! For dog bowls or birdbaths, replace the water weekly or get a bubbler.
Spraying only kills adult mosquitos, not the larvae. Dunk buckets lure female mosquitos into laying their eggs in buckets of water containing Bti. The eggs hatch but the larvae don’t make it to adulthood! Strategically placing buckets around a neighborhood can reduce the adult mosquito population.
Visit this page for more information on how to set up a dunk bucket at home. Spoiler alert - it's cheap and easy!
