Request a Township Shade Tree
Each year new trees are planted on streets throughout Lower Merion Township. A priority is to replace trees that have been removed along Township streets. Property owners who would like to have a tree planted in the right-of-way on their property can contact the Township Arborist at 610-726-7141 or complete the form by clicking the blue button below. Thereafter, the Township Arborist will inspect the site to determine if it is suitable for a shade tree. All considerations are taken into account for whether a tree can be planted and if so, what species would be best.
 Lower Merion Awarded Montgomery County
2040 Implementation Grant
Lower Merion Township is thrilled to announce the successful awarding of a Montgomery County 2040 Implementation Grant that will enable the extension of bike sharing into the vibrant City Avenue District. Bike sharing, an innovative transportation solution, is perfectly suited for short-distance, point-to-point trips, offering increased mobility options and complementing existing public transportation networks.
The City Avenue District, which currently enjoys the convenience of seven bus lines and proximity to three SEPTA regional rail lines, including Wissahickon Station, Bala Station, and Overbrook Station, is set to embrace this exciting initiative. The collaboration between Lower Merion Township and City Avenue Special Services District has been working toward transforming the area from auto-oriented office parks into a pedestrian-friendly mixed-use community.
These funds will be utilized for the capital purchases required to expand the Indego bike share network into the City Avenue District. Lower Merion Township is confident that this expansion will further enhance transportation accessibility and contribute to the continued enhancement of the City Avenue District as a place to work, live, play and learn.
