How to Purchase a Hunting License

Mark your calendars! Hunting licenses go on sale Monday, June 26, 2023.

Hunters can purchase their hunting license at any issuing agent or online. For a step by step guide on how to purchase a license online check out this video.

Starting this year, hunters can also purchase their antlerless licenses at participating issuing agents or online. 

What Kind of License Should You Buy?

Buying a general adult hunting license gives you the ability to hunt small game, turkey, and one antlered white-tailed deer. Hunting other game requires additional licenses or permits. Click here to find out what licenses you will need this upcoming season.

Resources for New Hunters Did you know the International Hunter Education Association has tons of free educational materials for new hunters. Check out their YouTube channel, Hunters Connect, for videos to help you get started hunting.

Find a Youth Field Day Near You! Youth field days are designed to give kids a hands-on introduction to outdoor sports such as archery, trapping, and hunting. Youth field days are hosted by Pennsylvania sportsmen clubs and are a great way to get youth outside and into the outdoors. Click here to find a youth field day near you!

Learn to Hunt with the PGC

The Game Commission’s Learn to Hunt program is designed to help individuals of all ages become successful hunters. Recordings of previous programs are available here and include webinars on rifle hunting deer, archery hunting deer, pheasant, squirrel, turkey hunting, and turkey biology.
