THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP
Thank you to our hunter-trapper education instructors who volunteered their time during the John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge mentored deer archery hunts!
In 2019, the Pennsylvania Game Commission and National Deer Association partnered with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to host a mentored deer archery hunt at the John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge, in Philadelphia, which continues today. So far this 2022-23 hunting season, three mentored deer archery hunts have occurred with 32 new hunters participating in the program and with a total of 9 deer harvested. One more mentored archery deer hunt is planned at John Heinz in January 19-21, 2023.
Check out this interview with Owen Prusack, HTE instructor, and his mentee Jean, to learn more about the mentored deer archery hunts at John Heinz!
